Alumni Program

The Fields of Opportunity Alum Program is designed to support graduates of the 8-week summer mentorship experience as they take the next steps in their professional journey. Participants will benefit from professional development resources and networking opportunities and continue to build their network of like-minded peers. The program includes skill-building workshops that are intended for participants 17-20 years old and going to school or working in the wine industry. 

​Professional Development 

​Participants will benefit from professional development resources and networking opportunities and continue to build their network of like-minded peers, including:
  • View internship opportunities collected annually by the Napa Valley Grapegrowers (NVG) before public release. 
  • Request recommendations and support with job or college applications from Napa Valley Farmworker Foundation.  
  • Receive a focused list of scholarships for technical programs or higher education.  
  • Attend quarterly workshops designed especially for Fields of Opportunity alumni.

  • Join the online Fields of Opportunity alumni community on WhatsApp and be part of a curated professional network sharing:

    • Access a curated list of Fields of Opportunity advisors in the wine industry for advice on professional advancement and industry best practices. 
  • Connect with other professional organizations, such as Latinos in Wine, and Paso Adelante, through a Farmworker Foundation introduction.  
  • Receive support in networking best practices.  
    • Students will attend the Napa Valley College career fair to practice networking for various wine industry positions, including operations, vineyard management, tasting rooms, human resources, etc.  
  • Volunteer at Farmworker Foundation events and connect with the industry.
