FIELDS OF OPPORTUNITY℠: Apprentice Program

The FIELDS OF OPPORTUNITY Apprentice Program connects emerging vineyard professionals with leadership perspectives, industry knowledge, and career pathways.

Through focused workshops and conversations with industry leaders, participants gain exposure to new ideas, build networks, and deepen their understanding of opportunities within the wine industry.

What Students Experience

Participants receive a comprehensive blend of professional development opportunities designed to strengthen leadership, communication, and career vision.

  • 8 Individual Coaching Sessions
    One-on-one, 60-minute virtual sessions focused on leadership development, goal-setting, confidence building, and emotional intelligence.

  • Group Facilitation Sessions
    Collaborative learning experiences with your cohort that build connection, trust, and peer accountability (dates TBA).

  • In-Person Workshops
    Hands-on sessions focused on practical skill-building and leadership application in real-world settings (dates TBA).

  • Quarterly Industry Panels & Networking Events
    Direct access to wine industry professionals, mentorship opportunities, and insight into diverse career pathways.

Expert Coaching

In the 2025/2026 academic year, Mayra Hernandez, Founder & CEO of Mayra Hernandez Coaching, will guide students throughout their apprenticeship.

With over 15 years of experience in the wine industry, Mayra is an ICF Certified Leadership & Mindset Coach who brings deep expertise in helping emerging leaders develop self-awareness, confidence, and strategic focus.

She will connect with each participant directly to share:

  • What to expect from your coaching experience

  • How to prepare for your sessions

  • Program expectations and scheduling details

  • Your first coaching session date

Participant Commitment

Success in the FIELDS OF OPPORTUNITY℠ Apprenticeship Program requires active engagement and dedication. Participants are expected to:

  • Arrive prepared and engaged for all coaching sessions and workshops

  • Complete a digital reflection journal after each session

  • Participate fully in group learning and networking opportunities

  • Apply new skills and insights in your current workplace

  • Communicate openly with your coach about challenges and progress.
