This two-part workshop is designed to help participants understand how interest rates affect the financial decisions they make every day and how that knowledge can help them prepare for one of the most important investments of their lives—buying a home.

In the first session, participants will learn how interest works in common financial situations such as credit cards, car loans, and savings accounts. The workshop will explain the difference between good debt and expensive debt, and why credit history plays an important role in long-term financial stability.

In the second session, participants will apply this understanding to the homebuying process. They will learn what lenders look for when approving a mortgage, including credit score, debt-to-income ratio, savings for a down payment, and how interest rates directly affect monthly mortgage payments.

By the end of the workshop, participants will have a clearer understanding of how money works, how to protect their credit, and what practical steps they can begin taking now to prepare themselves for future homeownership.
